I'm hardly an expert in Louisiana haunts. But i have friends that are. I finished this entire book in about two hours, and most the stories seemed honest, and most I had even heard featured in ghost tours of the great city of New Orleans. These stories are great for someone barely mildly interested in the topic or someone who is looking for a quick list of possible hauntings to pass through quickly while visiting the city. If you are very interested in these legends this book is not for you. The stories are too quick, have very little detail, and some (the Lalaurie Mansion tale in particular) feels like a swift retelling of what you will hear on the above mentioned ghost tour. Even though I know many of the stories from years of research, often you will find a book, such as this, that offers perhaps a little more insight or some new details. That wasn't to be found here. This was like a hastily thrown together compilation of local legends (honestly it should be called Haunted New Orleans since most the stories took place within the city and the ones that didn't are even more rushed through). There were a few tales that sounded very far fetched, mainly because they sounded like your typical urban legend in which the spirit does the same thing just the locale changes. Like I said it's ok for mild curiosity but the intensely interested party would be better off purchasing anything by Kalila Smith, New Orleans resident haunting expert.Product details

Haunted Louisiana The Most Haunted Houses in Louisiana edition by Jason Blair Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
I found the stories interesting but the grammar was that of an eighth grade essay. If this book wasn't self-published, their editor should be fired.
This book is at a reasonable price and the stories are intriguing!! I wish I didn't live so far away, because I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE TO VISIT NEW ORLEANS AND ITS NUMEROUS MANSIONS/PLANTATIONs. I've always been able to sense spirit presence and it would be awesome to visit some of the properties listed/talked about from this book.
While some may question the presence of ghosts, this book was a very interesting and enlightening about various land marks of Louisiana. More in-depth information about each location would have been even better. Good writing.
I expected a little bit more than "hear say" and "supposedly". The book also focused more on New Orleans (understandable of course) but really didn't touch on any other cities. While the book did pique my interest in some of the locations, some I've never heard of, the book ended abruptly and there were several spelling and grammarical errors.
There were a lot of interesting tidbits on a great many places in Louisiana, but they didn't go into enough detail on most of them. Even when it was obvious that there was more to know there was usually only a few words about a place. Sometimes the author did say that nothing more was known, but too often he just mentioned a place in passing. Also, although I am sure it is not the author's fault, does anyone proofread these ebooks. The sentences are often arranged in the wrong order with extra words or missing words. They don't even make sense sometimes.
This book is more of a guided tour of New Orleans Louisiana. It gives the history of the buildings that are supposed to be haunted, which is interesting to me. Information about the hauntings is minimal. This was an interesting book to read, not at all scary, but would be a good guide book for anyone visiting New Orleans who wants to visit haunted sites. Overall I enjoyed reading the book because I like knowing the history about the buildings as well as the hauntings.
Whereas this is a quick read (each story may be four to five paragraphs long), the spelling and grammar errors get in the way of the inept writing. Where was the editor? Maybe there wasn't one! "Cities" is not spelled "city's" unless in the possessive form, which it wasn't. If you want well-told tales of hauntings, don't purchase this book. "Haunted Heartland" is a much better buy.
